Take Aim at Sports: Archery at Camp Quinebarge

by on

At Camp Quinebarge, we believe in giving campers the chance to explore new activities, and archery is a favorite for many. Our sports staff undergo training with a qualified  US Archery Instructor Trainer during staff training to ensure a safe and rewarding experience for every camper. Since Quinebarge campers choose their activities, those who sign up for sports can test their skills on the archery range, learning proper stance, how to nock an arrow, aim, shoot, and retrieve their arrows—all with safety as our top priority.

Archery is more than just a fun pastime; it’s an ancient skill that teaches patience, focus, and discipline. In today’s fast-paced world, where screens dominate so much of our time, archery offers a refreshing challenge that blends concentration with physical coordination. Many children have never held a bow before, but with guidance and practice, they quickly develop confidence and accuracy. It’s a sport that rewards persistence and personal growth, allowing campers to set goals and see their progress over time.

At Quinebarge, we encourage campers to step out of their comfort zones and discover new passions. Archery might not be something they’d try at home, but here, they have the perfect opportunity to embrace it in a safe and supportive environment. Whether they hit the bullseye or simply enjoy the thrill of the shot, every camper leaves the range with a newfound appreciation for this time-honored skill. So, when your child comes home raving about archery, don’t be surprised if they ask for their own bow next summer!
