Camp Mail & Care Packages: The Joy of Snail Mail (and What Not to Send!)
There’s something truly magical about receiving a letter or package at camp — the anticipation, the excitement, the feeling of connection from home. At Camp Quinebarge, camper mail is a highlight of the day, and we love seeing the joy it brings!
✉️ Send Some Love
Campers write real letters home each week (yes, with pens and paper!), and many go above and beyond. Whether they’re updating you on their latest canoe adventure or just doodling smiley faces, those letters are special treasures.
We encourage you to write as often as you’d like — but keep things light and cheerful! Notes filled with “we miss you soooo much” or “the house is so quiet without you” can tug a little too hard on the homesick heartstrings. For new campers, a great tip is to send a letter before they even leave for camp. That way, there’s something waiting for them right away!
💻 Email Letters Too!
All families can send one-way emails through your CampInTouch account. These are printed every day at lunchtime and handed out to campers along with regular mail. It’s a great way to stay connected quickly — no stamp required!
📦 Care Packages = Happy Campers
We love care packages at Quinebarge, and your camper will too! Whether it’s a new book, a deck of cards, fun socks, or something they forgot to pack, these little surprises bring big smiles.
BUT! A quick reminder: please, no food, candy, or snacks.
While campers may be tempted to stash away a treat, it can cause real issues — not just with allergies, but with curious critters too! Squirrels, raccoons, and even the occasional skunk think hidden candy is a five-star meal. Any food items we find go straight to our staff lounge, where our counselors will very happily take care of them. 😉
