Refundable Sleepaway Camp 2020
Refundable Sleepaway Camp
As summer draws nearer, more and more families are seeking summer camps. While many parents know their children are in need of the normalcy, friendship, adventure, and activity that summer camp provides. They are also understandably concerned about the possible effects of COVID-19 on their summer plans, and looking for a refundable sleepaway camp. We at Quinebarge are planning to run as usual this year, with several adjustments made to keep camp as safe and healthy an environment as possible. In a scenario in which we are unable to open camp, all of our camper tuition will be fully refundable.
New Procedures for a “New Normal”
This summer, we’ll be going above and beyond our regular screening procedures to make Quinebarge as safe as possible for our campers, staff, and their families. In addition to our usual screening procedures which include a temperature, lice, and illness check at arrival, we’ll be adding several new layers of protection. Many of these will be determined by the American Camp Association and our local governing bodies, and are likely to include: pre-camp self-isolation and self-monitoring for campers’ households, daily temperature checks onsite, additional healthcare staff, and, if available, pre- and during-camp COVID testing for all participants. We’re also building additional hand-washing and sanitizer stations around camp, and building on our existing cleaning and sanitation practices.
Friendship is Everlasting
Life this spring has looked very different from the norm for children and adults alike. More than ever, children need the stability and positivity of summer camp – the adventures, campfires, games, and friends that make each summer memorable. At camp, children can make new friends, reconnect with old ones, and catch up on simple human connection. While some of daily life at camp may differ from past summers, the promise of fun and friendship is something that will never change.
