Hiking Camp in New Hampshire

A Premiere Hiking Camp in New Hampshire

Quinebarge is a traditional and hiking camp in New Hampshire. Located on Lake Kanasatka in Moultonborough, Quinebarge sits just a short drive from the White Mountain National Forest and many of its famed 4,000 footers. With trips of varying difficulties and durations going out daily, there is truly something for everyone, regardless of age or experience.

Hiking Adventures for All Ages and Abilities

Our campers come in at all different levels of skill and ability. Some of our younger campers are thrilled and challenged by a 30 minute hike up a gentle slope, while others call New Hampshire’s 4,000 footers ‘easy’. We ensure there is something for everyone by offering hikes for all ranges of ability and experience. Our beginner hikes include summits like West Rattlesnake in Holderness. From there, they ‘climb’ up in difficulty all the way to Mount Washington, the highest peak on the Appalachian trail. Each hiking trip is voluntary, with campers signing up for as many hikes as they like. Trip leaders keep track of miles hiked, and campers are thrilled when they are inducted to the 100 Mile Club.

Our experienced, qualified trips leaders ensure safety before and during hikes. Leaders work with our Directors and Camp Nurse to be sure campers participate in hikes within their level of ability. Each trip leader is certified in, at a minimum, Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR. Higher certifications including Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Response add an extra layer of security to any every hike.

Fun with Friends

As with most things, we find that our hiking program is more fun when you have a friend to walk beside. Counselors are trained to foster friendship, and shared experiences and challenges – including our hiking program – deepen those bonds even further. Friendships begin on the first day, and grow stronger with each activity, campfire, and hike. Whether campers come for a session or the full summer, they will go home with fond memories of camp fun and summit views, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
