Among The Best LGBTQ Camps in New England

A Camp for Everyone

Camp Quinebarge, founded in 1936, is a traditional, coed sleepaway camp in Moultonborough, New Hampshire. We are dedicated to providing a summer full of fun, friendship, and personal growth to children ages 6-16. As an inclusive community, we feel it is important that this opportunity is open to all children, including those in the LGBTQ community. Offering a wide range of activities and a program personalized to your child’s needs, we are among the best LGBTQ friendly camps in New England.

How Fun Sets Us Apart

Yes, that sounds counter-intuitive. However, our commitment to each camper’s individual experience truly does set us apart. At Quinebarge, each child chooses their own schedule from our list of activities each week. Because of this, campers not only get to a) take ownership over their experience and b) do what they like, but they’re also able to adjust throughout the summer, trying new things or spending extra time at their favorite activities. Every camper’s summer is as unique as they are.

Friendship is Everlasting

At Quinebarge, we bring campers and staff from all walks of life together in one community. Quinebargers represent a diverse set of nationalities, religions, cultures, and identities, and by putting kindness and friendship first, we are able to help campers build new connections each summer. While new friends may only spend two weeks together each summer, these bonds are strengthened through shared experiences and become friendships that inevitably last a lifetime.

Our Policy Regarding Transgender and Non-Binary Individuals

Camp Quinebarge is an intentionally inclusive community, where we not only value and respect all people, but accept and welcome them. Along those lines, we understand that everyone is unique, including in the expression of their gender. Camp Quinebarge accepts campers and staff regardless of their gender identity or expression. As with any sensitive personal information, we consider the gender identity of our participants and staff to be private unless the individual wishes to share it. Any transgender or non-binary person who wishes to keep that information private has the right to do so, and we will not share that information with anyone except medical staff when appropriate.

We welcome transgender and non-binary individuals, and are happy to make reasonable accommodations for privacy. As Quinebarge does not have gender-neutral housing onsite, we ask that all campers, CITs, and staff live in a cabin that best fits their gender identity in everyday life. We encourage any camper, CIT, staff member or parent to reach out to us to discuss how best to work with their situation for the benefit of our entire camp community.
