We believe that outdoor experiences are critical to every child’s camp experience and overall well-being. At Quinebarge, campers play and learn outdoors all day long, but the outdoor adventures don’t stop there. We provide camping experiences for all of our campers – whether they’re first-timers or old pros.
We offer two types of camping experience – onsite cabin camp-outs, and offsite group trips as part of our Trips Program. At least once every session, each cabin camps out at either Monkeytown or our onsite tenting area. Campers build a fire, roast marshmallows, and stargaze before hitting the hay. It’s a fun night for everyone, and a great way for camping rookies to get their feet wet without leaving camp. Within our Trips Program, campers can elect to go on overnight trips, offered regularly. They spend the night at a campground, in the White Mountains National Forest, or in Appalachian Mountain Club huts, and hike, canoe, or swim during the day.
Comfortable, Rustic, Lodging
When Quinebargers aren’t camping out, they live in our ‘rustic but clean’ cabins. All of these are equipped with screened windows, comfy bunk beds, electricity, and cubbies for storing clothes and personal items. Our Girls’ and Junior Cabins have bathrooms inside, while the boys use a dedicated Shower House and Wash House. Cabins sleep 6-10 people, and always have two counselors, or a counselor and a counselor-in-training assigned to each cabin.
Friendship and Fun
If we had to boil the Quinebarge experience down to two aspects, they would be fun and friendship. When campers are having fun and making friends, everything else falls into place and they will have the summer of a lifetime. We guarantee fun by having campers choose their own activities, and providing top-notch instruction and staff. Before campers arrive, we train staff to facilitate friendships and recognize (and stop!) issues like bullying and cliques. Whether your child joins us for 2 weeks or 9 this summer, he or she will have a blast, and make friends they will cherish forever.
