Welcoming our Sports & Trips Staff

by on

Campers at Quinebarge have the amazing opportunity to choose their activities weekly on Sunday.  Some of our most popular activities remain the ones we have had since our founding in 1936. Our sports program is a favorite among campers, with a goal to provide an active, fun, and safe program that allows campers to develop athletic skills and introduces them to new sports and games. The Trips Program gives campers the opportunity to opt into daily hiking trips and occasional overnight excursions with varying lengths and intensity. Both these program areas introduce campers to new skills, help them increase their confidence, and have FUN.

Quinebarge offers a multitude of team and individual sports. Our Sports program can range anywhere from tennis, baseball, archery, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, soccer, flag football, street hockey, dodgeball, cricket, rounders, and more! With new favorites like Quidditch, ultimate Frisbee, and Gaga there is something for everyone. Tennis and Archery are provided daily, while other sports alternate to give campers a well rounded experience. Archery has been a staple at Camp Quinebarge and remains one of our most popular activities today. Campers learn safety and technique from certified instructors on our range, and grow in confidence with each bullseye. Our tennis instructors teach tennis lessons, both individual and group, on our two beautiful clay courts. This year our sports staff includes Tayla from England, Ane from Spain, Bori from Hungary, Fiona from Scotland, & Wyeth, a former camper and CIT!

The Trips Program includes day excursions and overnight trips leaving almost daily from Quinebarge, and is different from other activities in that campers sign up the night prior and go on the day trip instead of following their schedule for the day. Campers of all ages are able to enjoy New Hampshire’s outdoors through hiking, camping, and canoeing trips, and form strong bonds over their shared experiences. Past trips have included hiking Mount Washington, Mount Chocorua, and other White Mountains, canoe trips on the Pemigewasset River and Echo Lake, and camping in State and National Parks and Forests. Trips are rated by intensity so campers new to hiking can ease in by choosing one of the shorter local hikes, such as  Mt. Rattlesnake or Red Hill. Regardless of which trip they choose, there is always a beautiful view and the pride of having made it awaiting them at the top. Our trips program is led by Jon, who is from Sweden but currently lives in Madrid, Jacqui from Scotland & Sebastian from Mexico!
