Camp Quinebarge’s Environmental Leadership Program: Building Stewards of the Earth
At Camp Quinebarge, located in New Hampshire our Nature activity is where curiosity, responsibility, and environmental leadership come together. Through hands-on experiences and time spent outdoors, campers don’t just learn about nature—they learn how to care for it. This is the heart of our Program: helping children grow into thoughtful stewards of the earth in a way that feels engaging, empowering, and fun.
Nature as a Place to Learn and Lead
Nature at Quinebarge is more than exploration—it’s participation. Campers take an active role in understanding the environment around them, from observing ecosystems to learning how everyday choices affect the land and water we share. Along the way, they build leadership skills by taking responsibility, asking questions, and modeling positive environmental habits for their peers.
Hands-On, Age-Appropriate Experiences
Through the Nature activity, campers learn best by doing. Activities are designed to be hands-on, collaborative, and accessible to all ages. Whether campers are learning about local wildlife, sustainability practices at camp, or how to care for shared outdoor spaces, the focus is on building awareness and confidence rather than memorizing facts.
Our Camp Is the Classroom
Set on the shores of Lake Kanasatka and surrounded by woods, Camp Quinebarge provides a natural classroom that can’t be replicated indoors. Campers develop a deeper respect for nature simply by living in it—learning how to move through the environment thoughtfully, protect it, and appreciate its role in their daily lives.
Skills That Go Beyond the Summer
Parents often tell us that lessons learned in Nature show up at home too. Campers return with a stronger sense of responsibility, greater awareness of environmental issues, and a desire to take care of the world around them—whether that means recycling more thoughtfully or encouraging others to do the same.
Growing Stewards Through Nature
At Quinebarge, our Nature activity reflects our core values of kindness, friendship, and fun. By giving campers the chance to explore, learn, and lead in the natural world, we help them build confidence, empathy, and a lifelong respect for the environment—one meaningful experience at a time.
