Healthy Summer Camp

A Healthy Summer Camp Environment Needed More than Ever

Summer camp has always been important, but in a time when children are socially isolated, and spend more and more time indoors at home, it’s become crucial. Providing a healthy summer camp environment for our campers and staff is our top priority to ensure their safety. When children are healthy, they’re able to fully enjoy everything camp has to offer, filling their days with fun, friendship, and personal growth.

Medical Staff Onsite 24/7

As a licensed and accredited residential summer camp, Quinebarge has medical staff in residence around the clock. Our medical team includes at least one nurse, health assistants, and other staff trained in health, safety, and first aid. We work in conjunction with local hospitals and primary care practices, who provide emergent and other offsite care as needed. Our providers also assist in reviewing and updating our health and safety protocols annually and throughout each summer season.

American Camp Association: Healthy Summer Camp Standards

Quinebarge is accredited through the American Camp Association, or ACA, meeting or exceeding nearly 300 standards and industry best practices. Standards include everything from collection of medical information before camp starts, to arrival screenings, illness prevention, and onsite facilities. With the guidance of the ACA standards, every aspect of our program is approached with an intention of promoting health and safety. Just a few examples include: ample hand washing and sanitizing stations around camp, cabin organization and bed spacing, cleaning and hygiene protocols, and isolation facilities.

Because of accreditation, parents can rest assured that Quinebarge is at the forefront of camp health and safety, providing the safest and healthiest program for their children. If you have any questions about health and safety at Quinebarge, please do not hesitate to contact our directors at 603-253-6029 or fun@campquinebarge.com
