Horseback Riding Camps in New Hampshire

Why Choose Quinebarge Over Specialized Horseback Riding Camps in New Hampshire?

The majority of horseback riding camps in New Hampshire fall into one of two categories: specialized horseback riding camps, which focus solely on that activity; or camps that offer horseback riding for a fee. Quinebarge is unique in that riding lessons are included in camper tuition, allowing campers to get a well-rounded traditional camp experience, while developing their riding skills. Because riding is only one of our many activities, campers are able to practice without becoming burnt out or bored.

The Quinebarge Riding Program

We hire knowledgeable, skilled staff to manage our stable and run our English and Western riding lessons. Campers range from total beginners to upper intermediate equestrians, and ride every day. Once campers are comfortable riding unassisted, counselors lead trail rides through our 70 acres of camp and pine forest trails. When they are not on horseback, campers learn how to take care of horses, including feeding and watering, mucking stalls, brushing, tacking up, and basics of horse health. Campers who sign up for riding get on a horse 6-7 days a week.

We do not require campers to bring breeches or riding boots, though they may bring them. Campers must wear long pants or leggings while on horseback and helmets are provided by us.

More than Just Horseback Riding

Our values come down to two themes at Camp Quinebarge: fun and friendship. Allowing campers to choose their own activities fosters both of these by allowing campers to try new things and do what they love, with those who share their interests. Quinebarge, unlike hyper-specialized programs, fosters and encourages friendships from day one. Your child will go home with new skills and memories, and new friendships that will last a lifetime.
